How we use your information
This covers the Request an Assist and Share your story forms on the Assists Universe, run by FC Mother.
What we collect
When you request an Assist: the Assists you chose, what you wrote, your ZIP code, your stage of motherhood if you gave it, your first name, your email, and your mobile number if you asked us to text you when the app opens. When you share a story: your story and its title, your name, how you want your name shown, your email, and your ZIP code if you gave it.
We do not store your IP address. To limit repeated submissions we keep a scrambled code made from it, together with a secret key only our servers hold. We use that code for nothing else.
Who sees it
Only the FC Mother team. Your contact details are never shown on the site and never sold.
What appears on the site
Requests: once our team has reviewed yours, it counts toward totals by borough, such as “Brooklyn · 14 requests”, and the most requested Assists there, each listed only once 3 or more requests include it. A borough with fewer than 3 requests shows “Fewer than 3” and is left out of the city total. Your name, ZIP code and words never appear.
Stories: only after a person on our team approves yours, and only with the name you chose (full name, first name, or Anonymous) and your borough.
Why we collect it
To understand what mothers in New York need, to plan the FC Mother app around it, to contact you if you said we may, and to tell you when the app opens if you joined the waitlist.
Changing your mind
Email support@fcmother.com to see, correct or delete what you sent, to take a story down, or to leave the waitlist.
